Meet the Couple<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the heart of this story is a queer, trans man in his early 40s who, along with his wife, has shared nearly 20 years of love and adventure. Living in a small mountain town near Shenandoah National Park, they\u2019ve built a life filled with travel, reading, cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals, and parenting their two boys, aged 8 and 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Trans<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Their relationship began shortly after he started his social transition, and his wife has been a steadfast supporter throughout his physical transition. He describes their small-town life as both challenging and rewarding, especially given his open transition in a public-facing job. \u201cLiving out and very open in a small town can be daunting at times, but there have been way more rewarding experiences than not,\u201d he shares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Queer<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The impact of their openness has been profound, touching the lives of trans youth and adults who have sought guidance and support. \u201cThe number of trans youth and adults who have reached out to me because they heard about me from a friend of a friend has been such a shining light in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overcoming Fears and Taking the Leap<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Despite their strong bond, booking a boudoir session came with its own set of obstacles. Money was a concern, and his wife was apprehensive. The open model call at Allebach Photography helped alleviate some financial worries, and after 20 years together, they decided it was time to spice things up a bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They chose to bring an array of outfits, including lingerie, a corset, and matching rainbow undies, but the nerves were palpable. \u201cI was nervous and awkward,\u201d he admits. The session started off similarly, but as they spent more time with Mike, their photographer, they began to relax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMike made us feel awesome, especially when he would get excited about a shot he captured. I left feeling like my wife felt like she was as beautiful as I\u2019ve been telling her she is for years.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unexpected Moments and Lasting Impressions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The session brought some surprises, including how much he ended up directing his wife during the shoot. \u201cI was surprised by how much I directed my wife at times; \u2018grab my beard,\u2019 \u2018put your hand here.\u2019\u201d The couple\u2019s playful and intense interactions made the session unforgettable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seeing the images for the first time was a wave of emotions. \u201cI felt excited and relieved that we didn\u2019t look like idiots. I felt a wave of love seeing the way my wife was looking at me in the pictures.\u201d They chose an album with all of their favorite images, a perfect way to cherish these memories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advice and Reflections<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For anyone considering a session with Allebach Photography, their advice is practical and heartfelt. \u201cTake inventory of the reasons that are preventing you from booking and tackle those individually. I think you\u2019ll be surprised once you break them down.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since their session, even in just a few days, they\u2019ve noticed a rekindling of their passion. \u201cWe are flirting and looking at each other differently.\u201d Their favorite part of the experience? It\u2019s hard to choose. \u201cI loved watching my wife feeling herself (mentally – haha). I loved how playful we were with each other, but also how intense it was.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Queer<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And a final piece of advice: \u201cDrink water throughout. I didn\u2019t feel thirsty during, but afterward I felt like I couldn\u2019t drink enough. Also, do the corny thing or the dorky thing that pops in your head. Some of the stuff we were doing in between \u2018poses\u2019 are some of our favorite pictures, whether that is blowing a raspberry on her stomach or playing booty drums.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
