If you’ve never taken the leap on a boudoir session, you may have a plethora of questions.
We’ve heard them all but near the top of that list is always, “What should I wear to a boudoir shoot?”
While we are always available to help guide our clients, (I’ve even personally shopped for people really struggling with what to buy) we’ve compiled an amazing list here, with links to some client favorites.
1. Bodysuits
These will always be at the top of our list! They are easily the most flattering, versatile and beautiful lingerie style. You can find GORGEOUS and unique pieces at Thistle and Spire or try on a bunch and return the ones you don’t like from Amazon!
2. Two Piece Sets
There are SO many styles and cuts for two piece lingerie sets, it’s hard to not find one that feels like YOU! From classic Calvins to bright colors, bdsm vibes and classic lingerie lace pieces, the options are truly limitless.
3. Babydoll Teddies
Teddies are definitely a classic, soft and romantic choice for a boudoir session. Silk or lace or maybe something scandalous like see-through mesh; you can step into a soft elegance and even channel your inner Marilyn Monroe!

4. Button Down Shirts
Who said you had to wear lingerie only for a boudoir session? Definitely not me! We LOVE when people bring in button downs to get a little flirty with. Whether it’s your partners, or you know you look damn good topless, with undies, and button down shirt (fully unbuttoned) this look is always fire!

5. Yours or Your SO’s Fave Sports Jersey
What a way to “Go Team Go” than to rock a jersey with nothing else but your birthday suit and maybe some cute bra and panty set?!

6. Sheets and Skin
Feeling a bit like a tease? Why not leave a thin layer to the imagination and work with fabric to barely cover the goods?

7. The Free Choice… Your Birthday Suit!
The beautiful part about booking a session with us (outside of our model calls) is our sessions are completely private by default. Meaning, you could do your entire session in the nude and the photos would remain for your eyes only, unless you say otherwise. And what better way to feel empowered in your confidence than strutting around the studio naked and baring it all for the camera!

There are so many more examples of creative and fun ways to really tailor a boudoir session to your style. You can make it nerdy and bring Harry Potter garb or add some spooky flair with horror themed costumes. You can just be in pj’s with your favorite food or drink, snuggled up in bed. We’ve even had giant slices of pizza cover up the nood bits of our client! Channel your inner goddess or deity, or transport back to an era that sparks joy! Whatever brings this experience the closest to home for you, nothing is off the table.
